Publisher Description
Play games and learn important pre-reading skills with Sounder & Friends™!
Based on the popular animated series, Sounder & Friends™, the Sounder & Friends™ Official Game invites your beginning reader into a fun and enchanting world where sounds can be heard - AND seen! The app is tailored towards children ages 3-7 and engages your beginning reader in activities that promote phonemic awareness, a critical early literacy skill.
WHAT IS PHONEMIC AWARENESS?
Phonemic awareness is the ability to hear and play with the individual sounds in spoken words. It’s a skill that is crucial to success in learning to read and spell. Children who become proficient at identifying the individual sounds in words, blending sounds together to form words, and deleting or swapping sounds to make new words are well on their way to reading success. And success in reading is associated with success in life!
WHO CREATED SOUNDER & FRIENDS™?
Sounder & Friends™ combines the creative genius of artists who have worked on iconic shows - like Batman & Robin and The Pink Panther! - with early childhood experts who bring over a half century of experience as literacy educators. It’s amazing to see what happens when important concepts are brought to life in a truly entertaining animated series - and now app!
HOW CAN THE SOUNDER & FRIENDS™ OFFICIAL GAME HELP MY CHILD LEARN?
By solving “sound puzzles,” your child will practice phonemic blending, segmenting, and manipulating - skills that are essential for reading and spelling!
